Exactly what service does the Job Shop provide to employers?
- The immediate free advertisement of your vacancies to Newcastle University Students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) who are registered with the Job Shop. For the academic year 2007/2008 this amounted to approximately 5000 registered students.
- Jobs are advertised on notice boards on the Job Shop premises and are also available on-line. Students then call into the job Shop where they are given details on how to apply and then contact employers directly.
- We advertise hundreds of part-time, temporary and one-off vacancies to students during term-time and we also handle full-time, seasonal jobs during the vacation periods, as the Job Shop is open all year round.

What other benefits does the Job Shop offer?
If you have a particularly urgent vacancy, or one requiring specialist skills, we can search our database for the most suitable applicants and contact them on your behalf. We can also distribute application forms, provide presentation or interview rooms and schedule interview times for you. Please note that a small administration fee will be charged for room hire. Please contact the Job Shop staff for more information on this.
