Café culture has come to the top floor of the Union in the form of the revamped Global Café, which has returned bigger and better than ever for the new academic year. You can chill, surf, read and think in comfy surroundings whilst sampling the impressive new menu of international, vegetarian and Fair Trade cuisine, lovingly designed by our new in-house chef.
We know your tastes are as diverse as you are, so the Global offers something for everyone, all in one place!
If you're after some proper comfort food made with top quality ingredients, try our selection of generous main meals or our range of burgers, all served with chunky skin-on fries, a dressed salad and homemade coleslaw.
Alternatively, if you fancy something a bit lighter, we have a huge range of light bites and fresh salads offering an extravaganza of flavours, including home made soup of the day and an extensive range of international salads, as well as exciting new dishes to spice up your lunchtimes, such as Chicken Satay and Thai Chicken Cakes served with Skin-On Fries.
Most exciting of all is the brand new range of naughty but oh-so-nice desserts, including classic sweet treats such as Chocolate Fudge Cake and Sticky Toffee Pudding.
With all this and more being served from 9am until 5pm on weekdays, complete with table service, the Global is more than just a lunchtime hangout. For all you morning people, there's also a massive range of breakfast dishes, including hot breakfast baps, croissants, freshly baked scones and the all-important All Day Breakfast, as well as Peruvian organic coffee, making it the perfect way to ease yourself into another hard day of lectures.
With Indian, Thai, Mexican, English, Swiss and Mediterranean dishes all gracing the menu, the Global Café truly lives up to its name, so when it comes to choosing your meal, the world really is your oyster!
