The Union Society is responsible for co-ordinating all competitive Sport at Newcastle. The Athletic Union finances, organises and supports all 60 sport clubs at Newcastle. Click on the link to the left for more information on the AU and becoming a part of Team Newcastle.
The Union also encourages students to club together and form Societies. You can find out information on how to join a society on the link to the left, or even start your own. There are over 100 societies here at Newcastle so there really is something for everyone. The Union gives each society money for the benefit of its members.
With Freshers Week, we try to introduce our new members to life as a Newcastle Student in the best way we possibly can. Apparently we are doing pretty well and have a wide ranging reputation for being the best Union at doing so. Freshers relies on picking the cream of the volunteering crop, so click the freshers link to see how you could get involved.
RAG Week is a yearly fundraising event run by the Union Society. RAG supports 4 or 5 Charities and relies entirely on volunteers. RAG is very sucessful and a lot of fun, have a look at how you can get in the mix.
